ASI Beach Bash Features the Talented and Self-Made Blxst!

ASI proudly presents Beach Bash, headlined by the incredibly talented and self-made artist, Blxst (pronounced "blast"). Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles and the Inland Empire, Blxst—whose real name is Matthew Dean Burdette—is a self-produced R&B/Soul and Hip-Hop/Rap artist, producer and father. He rose to prominence in 2020, drawing inspiration from iconic Californian sounds and artists such as 50 Cent, Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Nate Dogg and A Tribe Called Quest.

Blxst began his music career in 2014 and made waves in the LA rap scene as part of the rap collective TIU Muzic. He gained recognition for his work on Hitta J’s track “Do Yo Gudda.” In 2020, Blxst and his label, Evgle (pronounced "eagle"), signed with Red Bull Records and released his debut EP, "No Love Lost," in September of that year. The EP climbed to No. 3 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart in 2021.

"No Love Lost" launched Blxst’s career during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, thanks to standout singles like “Overrated” and “Chosen,” the latter featuring Ty Dolla $ign and Tyga. Since then, he has collaborated with artists such as Russ, Drakeo the Ruler and Bino Rideaux.

One of his most notable recent features is “Die Hard” from Kendrick Lamar’s 2022 album "Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers," which introduced his sound to a broader mainstream audience. Following that collaboration, Blxst knew he was on the right path.

Most recently, Blxst performed at Rolling Loud in Inglewood at Hollywood Park on March 16, right before the final acts Ken Carson and Playboi Carti.

Now, Blxst is bringing his signature sound to The Beach! Catch him live at Beach Bash on Friday, April 25. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the Walter Pyramid. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit asicsulb.org/beach-bash.
